SVADISTHANA OR SACRAL CHAKRA

from A$300.00

Svadisthana or second Chakra. Of all the images in the Chakra series this one was the most challenging to put together because of its complex photoshop overlays and transparencies. Clouds also require particular extraction and placement skills, and don't forget shooting them in the first place is also an exacting process.

The base images are from Jaipur (City Palace doorway and arch detail), Bundi (Betwa River, Bhimlat Falls), Orchha (Chhatris) and the crocodile was shot at the Madras Crocodile Bank near Chennai. (the symbolic animal is actually the mythic makara crocodile like creature: in Hindu culture, the Makara is a legendary sea creature. It is depicted as a half land and half sea animal. Ganga, the river goddess, and Varuna, the sea god, use the Makara as a vahana, or vehicle. Ancient Indian Vedic texts describe the Makara as the water monster upon which Varuna rode.) They were composited together to represent the water element.
